Is your version history limited?

We keep every backup performed at no charge to you. We never delete backups or files, unless requested by you. Other online backup providers will delete your old backups and even single files if said file is deleted from your computer. Our online backup is cost effective because we do not delete backups or files. Expensive is when you need to recover a file, and cannot because your backup has been deleted.

Is "open file" backup available?

Yes. It is built in to the system - there is nothing to configure.

Can I be notified by e-mail about successful backups?

Yes. It gives backup date, number of files changed, number of files unchanged, number of files backed up, and backup size. for that day. It arrives in a simple easy to read layout. There is also a history report in our program.

Can I back up multiple computers under the same account?

There is no limit on the number of computers you can backup under one account, and no extra charge.

Can I restore just 1 file, or do I have to restore the complete folder?

You can restore just one file, one folder, or all of your backed up data.

Is my data replicated at your data center?

Yes. We backup your data multiple times each day - to distant data centers.

Can I restore my files from a web browser?

Yes, simply login with your username and password. Once you are logged in, click Restore Files.

Can I share files?

Yes. Go to our support page and click on the Web Restore link. It will ask for your Backup Account username and password. Once you are logged in, click Share Files. A download link will be emailed to an address of your choice. For security, the email link will NOT require your username and password.

Are my files encrypted?

Your files are encrypted before they are sent over the internet, and then again at our data center. If you want to take it a step further, we offer a safe encryption option at no charge "Ultra-Safe" - then only you would know the decrypt key.

What does Ultra-Safe mean?

This is a feature that can be selected at the time you are creating an account. If you enable this feature, and then loose your password, you will not be able to restore your data. We won't be able to help with the lost password either. For normal accounts (non Ultra-Safe) if a user ever forgets their password, we can help them get it back.

Can I set my own backup time?

Yes. Right down to the minute. Also, you can change it at anytime. Some online backup providers only allow you a 4 hour window, we allow you complete control of your backup time. You can even backup hourly with our service.

How much space does the actual backup consume on my hard drive?

Very little by default. There is a "cache" option built into our software allowing for very fast backups, fast backups, and standard backups. The faster the backup the larger the footprint (data size) on your hard drive. Most online backup providers put a footprint on your hard drive the size of your backup. In other words, backup 10GB, they will put 10GB foot print on your computer, slowing down your computer daily.

How much does the service cost?

Our pricing is based on the amount of data you select to backup. Change your backup selection as often as you like, rename files, delete files, change computers, etc - every file from the very first backup to today's backup will be available for restore, since we never ever delete your backups or files, unless requested by you. Other online backup providers groom (delete) your old backups at least monthly, as maintenance, thus limiting your restores to just the last few backups.
