Christine Leahey

The View From Here: Visual Art by People who are Visually Impaired and Blind
Christine Leahey has a BA from Swarthmore College in art history and special education. She is an advocate of art museum accessibility for people with physical and mental disabilities, with specialization in vision impairment and blindness. As the visitor services director at the Santa Monica Museum of Art, she implemented accessible programming for visitors who are hearing impaired and deaf.

Dr. John Kennedy

The Blind Draw Right on the Edge
John M. Kennedy completed his Ph.D. in perception at Cornell University and began his research on blindness shortly thereafter as an assistant professor at Harvard University. He currently lectures at the University of Toronto, Scarborough College, where he won his college’s teaching prize in 1994.

Dr. Susanna Millar

Art by and for the Blind
Susanna Millar, M.A., Ph.D., Hon.D.Litt, AFBPsS, is an Oxford University Research Lecturer in the Psychology Department. Her scholarship on developmental, cross-modal issues, spatial perception and memory through touch and movement. Her experiments and publications are on perceptual illusions that occur in touch as well as in vision, and on mapping and reference effects.
